New executive director at the ABC
An obvious choice
Marc-Antoine Bérubé is the new boss of the Baseball Academy of Canada. He already held the title of Performance director and will now wear the Executive director’s hat.
His athletic background, his bachelor’s degree in sports therapy acquired at Concordia in recent years, his many hours setting up the players’ daily schedules and his dedication to the athletes of the Academy make him an obvious choice.
“Marc has demonstrated in recent years a great ability to plan, organize and coordinate his departments and I’m confident that he’ll now be able to do so for the entire program,” said Maxime Lamarche, general manager of Baseball Quebec.
The new executive director will be supported in his daily chores by Yannick Desjardins, director of player development, as well as all the ABC coaches.
Jesen Therrien attempting an MLB return
For his part, Jesen Therrien, who was in charge of the program last year, will remain with the ABC as a part time coach. Jesen will put all his energies into training in order to make an MLB return in 2023. Therrien underwent a second Tommy John operation last year and he’s now 100% recovered and in better shape than ever.
“I would like to thank Jesen for leading the program for the past year and we wish him the best of luck in pursuing his dream. We also hope to see him coaching as often as possible with our athletes,” Maxime concluded Lamarche.
